ਜਿਓਵਾਨੀ ਪਾਲਿਸਤਰੀਨਾ
ਜਿਓਵਾਨੀ ਪਰਲੁਈਜੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਿਸਤਰੀਨਾ (ਅੰ.1525 – 2 ਫਰਵਰੀ 1594)[1] ਇਤਾਲਵੀ ਪੁਨਰ-ਜਾਗਰਣ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਸੰਗੀਤਕਾਰ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਲਈ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਸੀ। ਇਹ 16ਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਗੀਤਕਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਰੋਮਨ ਸਕੂਲ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਨਿੱਧ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।[2] ਇਸਨੇ ਗਿਰਜਾ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਹਿਮ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਟੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਹੀ ਪੁਨਰਜਾਗਰਣ ਪੌਲੀਫੋਨੀ ਦੀ ਹੋਂਦ ਮੰਨੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।[2]

ਜੀਵਨੀ ਸੋਧੋ
ਪਾਲਿਸਤਰੀਨਾ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਰੋਮ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਪਾਲਿਸਤਰੀਨਾ ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਾਪਾਲ ਸਟੇਟਸ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਸੀ। ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ਾਂ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਇਹ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ 1537 ਵਿੱਚ ਰੋਮ ਗਿਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਇਸਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਸਾਂਤਾ ਮਾਰੀਆ ਮਾਗੀਓਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਆਇਅਰ ਗਾਇਕ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸਨੇ ਰੌਬਿਨ ਮਾਲਾਪਰਟ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰਮਿਨ ਲੇਬੇਲ ਨਾਲ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਕੰਮਕਾਜੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਰੋਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਬਤੀਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਇਸਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਸੰਗੀਤਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਪੌਲੀਫੋਨੀ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਯੂਰਪੀ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਜੋ ਇਟਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੀਦਰਲੈਂਡ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਸੰਗੀਤਕਾਰਾਂ, ਗੂਈਲੋਮ ਡੂਫ਼ੇ ਅਤੇ ਜੋਸਕਿਨ ਡੇਸ ਪਰੇਜ਼, ਕਾਰਨ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਕੰਮਕਾਜੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਇਟਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰਿਆ ਸੀ। ਪੌਲੀਫੋਨੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਲੇ ਤੱਕ ਇਟਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੋਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਰਾਬਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਹੋਇਆ।[2]
1544 ਤੋਂ 1551 ਤੱਕ ਇਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂਲ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਗਿਰਜਾਘਰ ਸੰਤ ਆਗਾਪੀਤੋ ਕੈਥੀਡਰਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਔਰਗਨਵਾਦਕ ਸੀ। 1551 ਵਿੱਚ ਪੋਪ ਜੂਲੀਅਸ ਤੀਜੇ (ਜੋ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪਾਲਿਸਤਰੀਨਾ ਦਾ ਬਿਸ਼ਪ ਸੀ) ਨੇ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਸੇਂਟ ਪੀਟਰ ਬਾਸੀਲਿਕਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਚਾਪੇਲਾ ਗਿਊਲੀਆ ਦਾ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਬਣਾਇਆ।[3]
ਸੰਗੀਤ ਸੋਧੋ
ਸੰਗੀਤਕਾਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸਦਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਨਾਂ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਨੇ ਸੈਂਕੜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਲਿਖੇ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ 105 ਮੀਸਾ, 68 ਔਫਰਟਰੀ, ਘੱਟੋ-ਘੱਟ 140 ਮਾਦਰੀਗਾਲ ਅਤੇ 300 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਮੋਟੇਟ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਇਸਦੇ ਘੱਟੋ-ਘੱਟ 72 ਭਜਨ, 35 ਮਾਗਨੀਫੀਕਾਟ, 11 ਲਿਟਾਨੀ ਅਤੇ 4-5 ਲੇਮੈਂਟੇਸ਼ਨ (ਸੋਗ ਭਰੇ ਗੀਤ) ਹਨ।[2] ਪਾਲਿਸਤਰੀਨਾ ਦੇ "ਮੈਗਨੀਫੀਕਾਟ ਤੇਰਤੀ ਤੋਨੀ" (Magnificat Tertii Toni) (1591) ਵਿੱਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਗਲੋਰੀਆ ਮੈਲੋਡੀ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਜ ਕੱਲ੍ਹ "ਵਿਕਟਰੀ" (Victory (The Strife Is O'er)) ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।[4]
ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰੀ ਸੋਧੋ
ਪਾਲਿਸਤਰੀਨਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਸਦੀ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰੀ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਵੱਧ ਗਈ। ਰੋਮਨ ਸਕੂਲ ਦਾ ਇਸਦੇ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ (ਜਿਸਨੂੰ 17ਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰੀਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਤੀਕਾ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਣ ਲੱਗਿਆ) ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਲਿੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਕਾਰਜ ਇਸਦੇ ਹੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਓਵਾਨੀ ਮਾਰੀਆ ਨਾਨੀਨੋ, ਰੂਗੀਏਰੋ ਜੀਓਵਾਨੇਲੀ, ਆਰਕੇਂਜਲੋ ਚਰੀਵੇਲੀ, ਤਿਓਫਿਲੋ ਗਾਰਗਾਲੀ, ਫ਼ਰਾਂਸੇਸਕੋ ਸੋਰੀਆਨੋ, ਅਤੇ ਗਰੇਗੋਰੀਓ ਆਲੇਗਰੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ।
