20 ਜਨਵਰੀ 2016 ਨੂੰ ਸਵੇਰੇ 9:30 ਵਜੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੱਛਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਂਤ ਖੈਬਰ ਪਖਤੂਨਖਵਾ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਾਵਰ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਚਰਸੱਦਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਬਾਚਾ ਖਾਨ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਈ ਆਤੰਕੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਪਰਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹੀ ਆਤੰਕੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਅੰਧਾਧੁੰਦ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਚਲਾਈਆਂ। ਇਸਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਪਰਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਨੇਕ ਧਮਾਕੇ ਵੀ ਸੁਣੇ ਗਏ। ਹਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ 21 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ <ref name="trib">{{ਫਰਮਾ:Cite web|title = LIVE: Seven killed, 12 injured as gunmen attack Bacha Khan University in Charsadda – The Express Tribune|url = http://tribune.com.pk/story/1030820/gunfire-heard-at-bacha-khan-university-in-charsadda/|website = The Express Tribune|access-date = 2016-01-20|language = en-US}}</ref>  ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਅਤੇ 60 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਜਖਮੀ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਖਬਰ ਸੀ, 60 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਖਬਰ ਹੈ। ਹਮਲੇ ਦੇ ਵਕਤ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਪਗ 3600 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਪਰਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ। 
 
== ਪਿਛੋਕੜ ==
ਹਮਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਦਿਨ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪਿਸ਼ਾਵਰ ਵਿਚ ਕੁਝ ਸਕੂਲ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਸਨ, ਕਿਉਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਖਿਆਲ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਬਣਾਈ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ.ਹੈ। ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ 2012 ਵਿਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਦਿਹਾਤੀ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਹੈ.ਹੈ। 2014 ਵਿਚ ਇੱਕ ਨੇੜੇ ਦੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਦੇ ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ 130 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ. ਬਾਚਾ ਖਾਨ (ਪਸ਼ਤੂਨ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਵਾਦੀ ਨੇਤਾ) ਦਾ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਕਾਵਿ .ਸੰਮੇਲਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸਨੇ ਅਫਗਾਨਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ 1979 ਸੋਵੀਅਤ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਤਾਲਿਬਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਜਾਹਿਦੀਨ ਦਾ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ.<ref name="BBC">{{ਫਰਮਾ:Cite news|title = Pakistan Charsadda: Gun battle rages at university – BBC News|url = http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-35359072|accessdate = 20 January 2016|work = [[BBC News]]|date = 20 January 2016|language = en-GB}}</ref> ਦਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਉੱਪਰ ਯੁੱਧ ਦੇ ਫ਼ੌਜਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਜਾਣੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਤਹਿਰੀਕ-ਏ-ਇਨਸਾਫ, ਸੂਬੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ, ਲਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ, ਚੁਣੇ ਗਏ
