ਅਫ਼ਗ਼ਾਨਿਸਤਾਨ: ਰੀਵਿਜ਼ਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਫ਼ਰਕ

Group|isbn=978-0-8239-3863-6}}</ref>ਅਫ਼ਗ਼ਾਨਿਸਤਾਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਸਲਾਮੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਫਤਿਹ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਦੀ ਜਨਤਾ ਬਹੁ-ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਸੀ। ਹਿੰਦੂ ਅਤੇ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਪੈਰੋਕਾਰ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਸਨ। ਸਤਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਦੇ ਮੱਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸਲਾਮ ਦਾ ਪਸਾਰ ਇੱਥੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਇਆ। 11ਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਮੰਦਿਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਬੋਧੀ ਮੱਠਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਜਾਂ ਮਸੀਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ।<ref name="Pew">{{cite web|url=http://www.pewforum.org/2012/08/09/the-worlds-muslims-unity-and-diversity-1-religious-affiliation/#identity|title=Chapter 1: Religious Affiliation|date=9 August 2012|work=The World’s Muslims: Unity and Diversity|publisher=Pew Research Center's Religion & Public Life Project|accessdate=4 September 2013}}</ref>2001 ਵਿੱਚ ਅਫ਼ਗ਼ਾਨਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ 2.7 ਕਰੋੜ ਅਬਾਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ 99% ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 84 % ਸੁੰਨੀ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਕੇਵਲ 15% ਸ਼ੀਆ ਮੁਸਲਮ ਹਨ।<ref name=":0" />
