To a redirect category (rcat) template: This is a redirect from an alias/shortcut (usually), or from a redirect that is the result of a page move/rename, to a redirect category (rcat) template.
This template is used on 2,000+ pages and changes may be widely noticed. Test changes in the template's /sandbox or /testcases subpages, or in your own user subpage. Consider discussing changes on the talk page before implementing them.
Template {{Rcat shell}} is an alias for the Redirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:
#REDIRECT [[Template:(target page name)]]
{{R to redirect template}}
This is in accord with instructions found at WP:REDCAT.
Use this rcat to tag any redirect that targets a redirect category (rcat) template. The redirect may be a shortcut or the result of a page move/rename. When the redirect is a shortcut, then it is a "template shortcut" no matter what namespace it is in and should also be tagged with {{R from template shortcut}}.
