ਵੀ ਡੂ (ਫ਼ਿਲਮ)
ਵੀ ਡੂ ਵਿਆਹ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਨਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਇੱਕ 56 ਮਿੰਟ ਦੀ ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ੀ ਫ਼ਿਲਮ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਫ਼ਿਲਮ ਨਿਰਮਾਤਾ ਰੇਬੇਕਾ ਰਾਈਸ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਨਿਰਮਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਤ ਹੈ। 'ਵੀ ਡੂ' ਤਿੰਨ ਐਲ.ਜੀ.ਬੀ.ਟੀ. ਜੋੜਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਿਸ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਯਾਤਰਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ 26 ਜੂਨ, 2015 ਨੂੰ ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ ਦੇ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਆਹ ਦੀ ਬਰਾਬਰੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਆਦਿ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।[1]
ਫ਼ਿਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਐਲ.ਜੀ.ਬੀ.ਟੀ. ਕਾਰਕੁਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਦਰੀ ਜਿਮ ਮਿਤੁਲਸਕੀ, ਕੈਥੇਡ੍ਰਲ ਆਫ਼ ਹੋਪ (ਡੱਲਾਸ) ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਪਾਦਰੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇੱਕ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਮਲਿੰਗੀ ਯੂਨੀਅਨਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਪਿਛੋਕੜ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਵੀ ਡੂ ਫਿਰ ਲੈਟਾ ਅਤੇ ਐਨੀ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੇਟੇ ਜੈਕਸਨ, ਮੈਰੀਅਲ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਵਿਆਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਈਕਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਤਿੰਨੋਂ ਜੋੜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਦੂਜੇ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਦੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਪਈ ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਯੂਨੀਅਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।[2]
ਵੀ ਡੂ ਸਤੰਬਰ 2015 ਵਿੱਚ ਏਜੀਲਾਇਫ਼, ਆਸਟਿਨ ਗੇਅ ਅਤੇ ਲੈਸਬੀਅਨ ਫ਼ਿਲਮ ਫੈਸਟੀਵਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਪ੍ਰੀਮੀਅਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ[3] ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਫ਼ਿਲਮ ਪਾਮ ਸਪ੍ਰਿੰਗਸ ਸਿਨੇਮਾ ਡਾਇਵਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਊਸਿਨੇਮਾ –ਵਰਥ ਗੇਅ ਅਤੇ ਲੈਸਬੀਅਨ ਫ਼ਿਲਮ ਫੈਸਟੀਵਲ ਦ ਐਫਟ ਦੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਚੋਣ ਸੀ।[4] [5] [6]
ਵੀ ਡੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਸਿਨੇਮਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਸ਼ੌਨ ਏ ਮੂਰ ਅਵਾਰਡ ਨਾਲ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਟੀ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਡਿਸਟ੍ਰੀਬਿਊਸ਼ਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵੰਡਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।[7]
