ਇਪੀਫਾਨਿਓ ਸਾਨ ਜੁਆਨ ਜੂਨੀਅਰ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਈ. ਸਾਨ ਜੁਆਨ ਜੂਨੀਅਰ (ਜਨਮ 29 ਦਸੰਬਰ 1938) ਵਜੋਂ ਵੀ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਟਾ. ਕਰੂਜ਼, ਮਨੀਲਾ, ਫਿਲੀਪੀਨਜ਼),[1] ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਫਿਲੀਪੀਨੋ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ, ਤਾਗਾਲੋਗ ਲੇਖਕ, ਫਿਲੀਪੀਨੋ ਕਵੀ, ਸਿਵਿਕ ਬੌਧਿਕ, ਕਾਰਕੁਨ, ਲੇਖਕ, ਨਿਬੰਧਕਾਰ, ਵੀਡੀਓ/ਫਿਲਮ ਮੇਕਰ, ਸੰਪਾਦਕ, ਅਤੇ ਕਵੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਲਪੀਨੀਓ ਲਿਖਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਿਲਪੀਨੋ ਡਾਇਸਪੋਰਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਿਤ ਕੰਮ ਜਰਮਨ, ਰੂਸੀ, ਫ੍ਰੈਂਚ, ਇਤਾਲਵੀ ਅਤੇ ਚੀਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਨੁਵਾਦ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ। ਨਸਲ ਅਤੇ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਅਧਿਐਨਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਲੇਖਕ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ,[2] ਉਹ "ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ" ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਸਟੋਰੀਆਂ, ਕਨੈਟੀਕਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਿਲੀਪੀਨਜ਼ ਕਲਚਰਲ ਸਟੱਡੀਜ਼ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਦੇ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਸਨ। 1999 ਵਿੱਚ, ਸਾਨ ਜੁਆਨ ਨੇ ਫਿਲੀਪੀਨਜ਼ ਦੇ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਚੀਵਮੈਂਟ ਲਈ ਸੈਂਟੇਨਲ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਫਿਲੀਪੀਨੋ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਲੀਪੀਨਾ ਅਮਰੀਕਨ ਸਟੱਡੀਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।[3]
ਸਿੱਖਿਆ
ਸੋਧੋਸਾਨ ਜੁਆਨ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੁਢਲੀ ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਫਿਲੀਪੀਅਨਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੋਨਿਫਸੀਓ ਐਲੀਮੈਂਟਰੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਵਿਖੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਜੋਸ ਅਬਾਦ ਸੰਤੋਸ ਹਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੈਕੰਡਰੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ 1958 ਵਿੱਚ ਫਿਲੀਪੀਅਨਸ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਗ੍ਰੈਜੁਏਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਪੂਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮਾਸਟਰਜ਼ ਡਿਗਰੀ 1962 ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਾਰਵਰਡ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਤੋਂ 1965 ਵਿੱਚ ਰੌਕੇਫ਼ੈੱਲਰ ਫ਼ਾਊਂਡੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਨਾਲ ਪੀਐਚ.ਡੀ ਦੀ ਡਿਗਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਹ ਇਟਲੀ ਦੇ ਬੇਲਾਗਾਓ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੌਕੀਫੈਲਰ ਸਟੱਡੀ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਥੀ ਸੀ।
