ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਕੁਮਾਰ (ਪੁਲਿਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ)
ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਕੁਮਾਰ (15 ਨਵੰਬਰ 1950 - 7 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ 2020) ਇੱਕ ਆਈਪੀਐਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸਨੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਰਾਜ ਨਾਗਾਲੈਂਡ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਵਜੋਂ[2] ਅਤੇ ਸੰਖੇਪ ਵਿੱਚ 2013 ਦੌਰਾਨ ਮਨੀਪੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਵਜੋਂ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਿਭਾਈ ਸੀ।[3]

ਉਹ ਅਗਸਤ 2006 ਤੋਂ ਜੁਲਾਈ 2008 ਤੱਕ ਹਿਮਾਚਲ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਡੀਜੀਪੀ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ[4] ਅਤੇ 2 ਅਗਸਤ 2008 ਤੋਂ 30 ਨਵੰਬਰ 2010 ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ.ਬੀ.ਆਈ. ਦੇ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਰਹੇ।[5] [6] ਸੀ.ਬੀ.ਆਈ. ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਤੇ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੋਹਰਾਬੂਦੀਨ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਕੇਸ ਦੀ ਤਫ਼ਤੀਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ 2010 ਵਿਚਅਮਿਤ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।[7]

ਸੋਧੋਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ 7 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ 2020 ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਮਲਾ ਦੇ ਬ੍ਰੋਕਹਰਸਟ ਸਥਿਤ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ 'ਤੇ ਫਾਹਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਖੁਦਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਸੀ। ਸੂਤਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੁਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਤੋਂ ਪੀੜਤ ਸੀ।[8]
