ਲੇਡੀ ਅਬਦੁੱਲਾ ਹਾਰੂਨ
ਲੇਡੀ ਅਬਦੁੱਲਾ ਹਾਰੂਨ (1886-1966), ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਅਸਲ ਨਾਮ ਨੁਸਰਤ ਖ਼ਾਨਮ ਸੀ, ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੀ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਸਮਾਜੀ ਔਰਤ ਸੀ।[1]
ਜੀਵਨ
ਸੋਧੋਨੁਸਰਤ ਖ਼ਾਨਮ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਈਰਾਨ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ੀਆ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਕਰਾਚੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੈਟਲ ਹੋ ਗਈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ 1914 ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਆਸਤਦਾਨ ਅਬਦੁੱਲਾ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ 'ਲੇਡੀ ਅਬਦੁੱਲ੍ਹਾ ਹਾਰੂਨ' ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਣ ਲੱਗਿਆ।[2]
ਉਹ ਸਿੰਧ, ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਦਿਲਚਸਪੀ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਸਕੂਲ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੰਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਭਲਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ 'ਅੰਜੁਮਨ-ਏ-ਖਵਾਤੀ' ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਣੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਲੇਡੀ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਮੁਸਲਿਮ ਲੀਗ ਦੇ ਬੈਨਰ ਹੇਠ ਸਿੰਧੀ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਚੇਤਨਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਸੀ। ਨਤੀਜੇ ਵਜੋਂ, ਉਹ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸੂਬਾਈ ਚੋਣਾਂ, 1946 ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਲਈ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਸੀ।[3]
ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ 1919 ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੰਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਿਲਾਫਤ ਅੰਦੋਲਨ ਦੀ ਜ਼ੋਰਦਾਰ ਸਮਰਥਕ ਸੀ।[4]
ਲੇਡੀ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਕਈ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਸੰਗਠਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਜੁਡ਼ੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਸੰਨ 1943 ਵਿੱਚ ਆਲ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਮੁਸਲਿਮ ਲੀਗ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਾਖਾ 'ਆਲ ਇੰਡੀਅਨ ਵੂਮੈਨ ਮੁਸਲਿਮ ਲੀਗ' ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਚੁਣੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਉਹ 1945 ਵਿੱਚ ਬੇਗਮ ਰਾਣਾ ਲਿਆਕਤ ਅਲੀ ਖਾਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਥਾਪਤ ਆਲ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਵੁਮੈਨ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਉਪ-ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸੀ।[5][6]
